Tackle the Fondue Fury challenge within a flexible time window, between 01/07/2025 and 15/09/2025. Riders choose when to start and set their own pace, with a 15-day limit to complete the journey. When you sign up, you’ll indicate an approximate starting date, which can be adjusted later.
Live Tracking
Stay connected with live tracking throughout your ride. Using your phone as a tracker, you’ll be followed online, so friends, family, and fellow riders can watch your progress. Detailed instructions on setting up the system will be provided before your start date.
Brevet Cards and Stamps
Collect stamps along the route to mark your progress. You’ll receive a brevet card at the start, with your first stamp provided by Aigle Tourism. Other stamps are hidden as geocaches along the route—coordinates and instructions will guide you to these checkpoints.

Please read this document carefully before registering as it entails direct legal consequences and governs the conditions of participation between the organiser and participant.
- Participants must be 18 years old and above.
- Participation in the event is at the participant’s own risk and responsibility. The Organiser and its partners hold no liability for theft, accidents, or illness
- Each participant must ensure they are adequately trained and physically capable of completing the event, taking into account external conditions such as weather and course status. Participation is entirely at their own risk. If unsure, participants should seek medical advice to confirm their health readiness
- Participants understand they can exit the event at any time if necessary.
- It is mandatory for each cyclist to sleep for a minimum of 3 hours within every 24-hour period after the first day of the challenge.
- Each participant is responsible for obtaining their own insurance coverage for accidents, illness, theft, and personal liability.
- Participants must comply with the riding time-windows specified for each specific challenge.

- Riders have to wear helmets and use a front white light and a rear red light during night rides (between sunset and sunrise) and in conditions of poor visibility.
- Act in the spirit of this event. Participants should behave in a manner that upholds the reputation of the event, organizers, and sponsors.
- Only human-powered vehicles are allowed.
- Aiding or receiving help from other bikepackers is only allowed in case of an emergency.
- Third-party support of any kind is prohibited. All food, beverages, equipment, and spare parts must be carried by the bikepacker. Services such as grocery replenishment, room rental, laundry service, or vehicle repair must be obtained from commercially available spaces along the route, accessible to all participants. Refueling and private accommodation (non-commercial) are strictly prohibited. Family and friends are welcome to support and encourage participants but cannot provide any form of support or shelter.
- Participants must complete the event within 15 days.
- To be qualified to the final ranking, participants should must follow the pre-defined route.
Checkpoints and Tracking
- Checkpoints: Riders can stamp their brevet cards in the designated check points. This is not mandatory for final ranking.
- Tracking: Riders must use the provided GPS tracker for verification and safety.
Conduct
- Participants must respect the local traffic rules, the communities and the environment
- Respect Others: Be courteous to other riders, pedestrians, and vehicles.
- Leave No Trace: Carry out all trash and respect the environment.
Emergencies
- Self-Rescue: Be prepared to handle emergencies independently.
- Medical Aid: Seek medical aid if needed. External assistance may result in disqualification.
Disqualification
The Organizer retains the authority to disqualify participants who exhibit irresponsible behavior or disobey Organizer instructions at any point during the event. Reasons for disqualification may include (but are not limited to):
- Receiving outside support.
- Route Deviation
- Unsportsmanlike Behavior
- Engaging in unsafe or disrespectful conduct
- Insufficient equipment
- Environmental harm
Data collection
- The Organizer will gather necessary personal information to ensure the successful organization of the events.
If any of the rules are not followed, the promoter retains the right to disqualify any “finisher” and will remove any inscription from the wall. This list of rules is not exhaustive, so please use common sense to avoid any unexpected situations.

The Cheesy Challenges are an open challenge conducted within a specific time window and does not offer prizes. Successful participants will be featured in the Hall of Fame. We do not endorse the interpretation that our event constitutes a race.
No. Riders must be at the top of their game because Vandelay Challenges are designed to be very difficult.
- Pre-registering on the website:
- Athletes express their interest in the challenge, providing their preferred time window and key information.
- Payment and confirmation of participation:
- Rider receives an email to confirm interest and pay
- After payment, we’ll dispatch the Brevet Card to your address. All athletes must confirm their participation two weeks before their start date to ensure timely receipt of the Brevet Card.
- Submission of Strava proof after completion:
- Riders must submit their Strava proof upon completion to be featured in the Hall of Fame.
Yes, a refund is available, but only 40% of the registration fee will be refunded.
“Self-supported” ultracycling embodies the essence of cycling through adventure, independence, and autonomy, ensuring equal circumstances for all participants. It’s about challenging your own limits and experiencing the journey firsthand. Participants are prohibited from receiving any outside assistance to remain eligible for the Hall of Fame. Simply put, only commercial services available to the public are allowed, ensuring fairness. Additionally, drafting, or riding on the wheel of other participants or vehicles for aerodynamic advantage, is strictly prohibited.
- The following items are mandatory: helmet, reflective vest (to be worn during nights and poor visibility conditions), front and rear lights (including a backup kit), and an emergency blanket.
- We strongly recommend that riders obtain insurance coverage for the ride, including expenses for treatment, repatriation, disability, and death.
